Waldport and Yachats have seen some interesting changes over the years. Many years ago the Yachats Ladies Club building was a lively dance hall on the weekends. Folks from far and wide would come to the coast to party and dance the nights away! In Waldport what is now the Moose Lodge used to be the school gym with kids doing what kids do in school gyms. Now of course the Moose is one of the best Moose Lodges in the West and the Yachats Ladies club is home to many community events but no dances there lately.
A lot of towns here on the Central Oregon Coast have fond memories of days past and the old timers can entertain you with their remembrances that go back years with stories of various local characters and the taverns and bars like Lester’s in Yachats and the Iron Kettle in Waldport. Very colorful tales to say the least.

And today a new and surely colorful new chapter is unfolding in Yachats. The birth of a business that reflects the changes that have been taking place in the past year or so. There once was a very popular Pizza delivery service called Out Of Sight Pizza in Yachats. A great way to enjoy a fresh baked Pizza delivered to your door. There was also a Chevron gas station that sold gas as well as providing service for trucks and autos.

Well Out Of Sight Pizza has gone by the wayside and the Chevron Gas station no longer sells gas but is still a repair shop, AAA provider, and a U-Haul outlet.

Both of the operators of those businesses are long time Yachats business men and residents. They had their run in their previous businesses and now are on to newer ventures.
But those two businesses have not been forgotten! Two enterprising Yachatians have taken over a section of the former gas station and turned it into a Pizza take-out and delivery shop. It will be a welcome addition to the eclectic Yachats business community. Not all villages the size of Yachats can boast of three places that off hot, delicious and tantalizing pizza along with baked entries, sandwiches and soup but now it can with the addition of OuttaGas Pizza.

In a tribute to Vern from Out Of Sight Pizza and Rick the owner of the Chevron station, Yachats residents Dave and Michael choose the OuttaGas Pizza name to carry on the tradition of great pizza and a salute to the former gas station.

Some things fade away but other things rise from the ashes and carry on the name and memories. So enjoy another uniquely Yachats treat!
